How often should I change my razor blades?
15 days? 30 days? 60 days?
……..NEVER?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a straight forward answer.
Why not? There’s so much to consider. It depends on:
- Your shaving frequency
- Your hair type
- Hair thickness
- The type of blade
- etc.
I have a friend who changes his razor blades once every four months. He told me sometimes he’ll continue to use it for six months.
Why?
That’s because he shaves once a week. Unlike some, he doesn’t grow a beard fast. Me too! I have to thank my Asian DNA for that.
So … How Often Should I Change My Razor?
The answer is to determine how often you should change your razor blades is based on ‘the feel’. You don’t have so summon your inner chi. You just have to feel it on your face.
I LOVE fresh razor blades. I love the feeling of a smooth shave. Since I have sensitive skin, I change my razor blades every one and a half to two months as I don’t shave every day (again, ASIAN DNA)
I can tell when I need to change my razor blades when I feel a ‘pull’ when shaving or irritation a day after my shave. I’ll get acne aka razor bumps after a shave.
When I do, I’ll know it’s time for a fresh blade.
My friend that I talked about earlier doesn’t have sensitive skin. That allows him to continue to use it for MONTHS.
So to sum it up, whenever you feel your shave isn’t comfortable, you’ll know it’s time for a new razor blade.
It’s that easy.
Good luck.
