I’m 5’3 in height and I’m FINE with it.
Some people will never get over the fact that they do not have the “society accepted” height.
Yup. That was me a few years ago. I wanted to be TALL!
The good thing is, I’ve accepted my flaws.
According to the statistics, the average height of males in the United States is 5 feet 9 inches. Thank god I live in Asia.
I’m wayyyy below height. I do believe however that short guys have so much to offer. But if you want to feel better about yourself, here are 7 reasons why being short is absolutely the best!
7 Reasons Why being Short is the Best
1. Shot at teens section
Short men can always shop in teen section, no matter if it is shoes, or clothes. It’s easy for us shop anywhere we want. I like to shop at Zara and Topshop. 🙂
We can get away with it. Why? Because we look young.
2. Forever young
I don’t know about you, but short men look young.
Even when we’re 30 or 40 years old, people will think of you as a younger fellow. Short people seem to be associated with youth, and even you are older, some will mistake you for a 20 year old boy. Simply put, shortness = perpetual youth.
3. You are viewed as trustworthy
One of the advantages of being short is that people view you as being polite, wholesome and young.
All those are characteristics linked with being trustworthy. While it hasn’t been proven by science yet, people inherently trust short men. And that will make you good friend and colleague.
4. Never be forgotten
One of the perks of being a short guy is that nobody will ever, never forget you. Case in point, in class photos, you are always in the front. I love standing or sitting in front.
So whenever people look at old photos, people will always remember you and your stand up personality. You’re basically in front all the time.
There is no way you will ever be forgotten by being in front on all photographs. Even at events, people will remember you because you will stand out among the rest. People will always remember the shortest and the tallest guy.
5. Comfortable traveling
Just ask tall people how hard it is to travel with train, bus or a plane.
More often than not, the public transport utilities do not offer as much legroom as people would love.
Imagine tall people sitting in a budget airplane! HAH! good luck with that. If you think that’s bad, try sitting Air Asia.
However, we short men do not have that problem. Being a short guy you can travel with any public transport, and still have more than enough legroom to feel comfortable. And when it comes to car driving, you will have legroom no matter whether you are driving or you drive tiny little smart card or a BMW.
6. You can be lazy
When you are a short guy, often times you cannot reach a higher shelf. Do not worry, people will always be there to help you and assist you.
Just ask anyone, and most often than not, you will get help. Which leads to sometimes short men turning into lazy as ever.
But do not worry, you can get away with that. It is one of the perks of being short.
7. Live longer
Science has proven that short men live longer. While for some people being old might be troublesome and irritating, if you want to live long, cherished and happy life, enjoy being short guy. And did I mention that short men are viewed as younger? Of course I did!
